My Writing

Refined and Returned Vol. I

A Novel in Three Parts

Emma Watson was one of six children born to loving, though poor, parents. She was taken away from her family at the age of five to be raised as the heir of her aunt and uncle; however, fourteen years later, she found herself once again returned to her family as a well-raised young lady without a penny to her name. Now, Emma has to learn how to live in less refined company than she has been used to while also getting to know the family from whom she has been so long estranged.

With a goal to make a place for herself, how will Emma cope with her new circumstances? Will she overcome her fears of abandonment and betrayal and bond with the family who let her go all those years ago? Find out in this completion of Jane Austen's unfinished fragment "The Watsons".

Refined and Returned Vol. II (NA)

A Novel in Three Parts

Emma's state of mind is in turmoil after another betrayal, and she decides that she can no longer remain at Stanton where she has been so ill-treated. She chooses instead to take up Jane on her offer of a visit to Croydon to enjoy new, and hopefully more refined, society. Though she can't expect any enjoyment from the company of her hosts, she hopes that their proximity to London will offer her the chance to meet with more like-minded, and well-educated, people whom she might call her intellectual peers.

Will Emma enjoy her time among Croydon society, or will she find it the company as lacking as it was in the environs of Dorking? Will Jane and Robert's encouragement and aid finally help Emma to meet a man who meets her standards? Or will Emma be disappointed in her situation all over again? And how will she react when she must attend the wedding of the very man she had put all her hopes on?

An Alternate Austenverse

A Butterfly Effect Variation/Merger Series

This series is set in the Austenverse (merging Austen's stories into one world and creating a chance for any and all characters to interact.)

Originally, I simply put the events of each story onto a timeline and created background details and connections that wouldn't change the main events of the stories but simply add to their depth.

Next, I made a few small changes to see how it might affect the overall events in one or two stories.

Then I simply sat back and let the ripples spread out across the Austenverse.

This series begins with one small change made a year before the start of one story and creates ripples that introduce new pairings, new adventures, and hidden connections between the characters and the stories.
